  1. The humanitarian rationale for Hope & Homes for Children’s (HHC) mission is as obvious as it is compelling. However, by also engaging the disciplines of science and economics (and the latter cannot be ignored) as it does, HHC is presenting a de facto business case to politicians, the national level policy makers and budget holders, for systemic change. In all ways and for many reasons the eradication of institutional care is right for the development of a nation’s children (self-evidently), its society and its economy. And where the case for change convinces both heart and mind, it clearly has a greater chance of sustainable success.
